S. Sartzetakis
is
an Associate Professor of Environmental Economics at the Department of Accounting and Finance, University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki, greece. Previously he served as an Assosiate Professor of Economics at the Department of Economics
and Finance at the University College of the Cariboo, British
Columbia, Canada. He has served as chairperson during the period
1998-2000. Previously, he was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Universite
Laval, and the University of British Columbia. His research interests
include evaluation of environmental regulations within imperfectly
competitive markets, effects of environmental regulations on international
competitiveness, design and enforcement of international environmental
agreements, and alternative environmental policies such as environmental
advertisement. He has published articles in International Journal of Public Economic Theory, Journal
of Industrial Organization, Environmental and Resource Economics,
Journal of Regulatory Economics, Review of Industrial Organization, Actualite Economique, and he co-edited (with E. Petrakis
and A. Xepapadeas) Environmental Policy and Market Structure (1999).
His teaching includes courses in environmental economics, industrial
organization, business economics and regulations.
